Adding Goodwe Solar Panel Inverter to Home Assistant

Long story short, I installed a solar panel after having an argument why we should and shouldn’t install the solar panel. In the end I just installed it because it is good for the environment and saving money for the long term as well, given that there are government grants available if you do so.

What I found next is the information that I am getting from the inverter is not to my satisfactory, so I went off to search what is available out there and I stumble across the GoodWe plugin that works with my Home Assistant. So then why not install this and streamline everything into my Home Assistant.

Step 1. Add GoodWe Inverter Integration to Home Assistant.

Go to “Settings” in HA and click on “+” button, then search for GoodWe. Once you found it click it and then add the IP address as shown below:

Once done, all the properties should show up in Home Assistant
